THE VALUE OF WILDLIFE TREES

Wildlife trees, sometimes called snags, are dead or decaying trees that provide habitat to many species of wildlife such as hawks, owls, and squirrels.  Many people choose to remove these trees because they can be unsightly.  However, in many situations, they can be incorporated beautifully into the landscape with some creative design solutions.  You can even hang bird feeders off of it to attract more wildlife.  It can be very enjoyable to watch such a spectacle!  If the snag doesn’t pose any danger to people or structures, consider incorporating it to preserve a wildlife habitat that is beneficial to many.
